International Living Room Vol. II, Issue 11

Increasing Your Family's Cultural Awareness

If your family is seeking a cultural experience in the comfort of your own home, consider hosting an exchange student with AFS.

It's great way to build peace and understanding while making international friendships along the way. Read below for a Star Tribune article on the hosting experience of a Minnesota family. They describe their time hosting with AFS as:

"a wonderful experience...even with the challenges, you definitely view the world differently. It just changes your whole perspective."

Baltimore Chapter Holiday Party - Impotant Update Please Read

Attention AFS Baltimore Students/Families & Volunteers:

Attached is a message from one of the Chapter's primary volunteers who is working on the Party this Weekend:Hi Friends!

I am helping Leigh [ Chapter Events Coordinator] to organize the AFS Holiday Party this year and I was thinking you guys could help us by bringing some music from your respective countries that we could play at the Party.

Something nice, fun, that you would normally listen to during the Holidays/New Years...

Let me know if you can do it. Pls post reply to afsbaltimorechapter@yahoo.com or via Baltimore Chapter Facebook page. Thanks and I will see you there!!! Cintia
